: : They seemed to pick up right where they left off. Let's hope they continue to carry the games next season.
: You're right, I did notice that this weekend when I came back to the area. I still have the impression Woodward is an operation that likes to keep its music stations all-music and its talk/sports stations all all-talk/sports, with the two never mixing together (case in point: the Gamblers move to 104.3 when WGBM became Razor in 2000). But apparently there's still something called a "contract" that needs to be honored. My guess is that the Rattlers will remain on 104.3 for the duration of this baseball season, but will still get moved to someplace like WSCO for 2004, hopefully with the Rattlers' blessing. The Gamblers and high school sports will probably be moved as well.
: As for "The Breeze" format, it is as if the station was still in the Brookers' hands but they decided to widen the focus of the music. But this being a station now in corporate hands (Woodward's), the playlist now isn't as loose as during the Brookers' days IMO. In other words, Woodward added songs from other decades but scuttled many of the lesser-known 70s songs, all to conform to the consultants' suggestions.
: And man, those "Breeze" sounders are even lamer than the ones Woodward created for "Mix 95-9." "A place where there's no e-mails... the boss is nowhere to be heard... your skin is tanned a perfect bronze and you have a billion dollars in the bank account." Okay, I made those last two up, but the sounders are still lame.
Where are they getting the consultants for these stations? They need to go back to Radio 101 and learn some of the basics of radio. I have heard before that radio in Green Bay and the Valley sucks. Someone needs to get some people in there to make it sound good again. Midwest is one of the best sounding companies right now. Woodward is way behind.
